Coorow Seeds pays growers for any grain removed during grading - referred to as seconds. The value paid for the seconds relates to
1. The type of grain
2. Current market prices
3. The quality of the seconds
1. Cereal or Legume
All cereals seconds are stored together.
This silo can hold a mixture of wheat, barley, oats, triticale, rye and others.
All legume seconds are stored together
This silo can hold a mixture of lupins, chickpeas, field peas, faba beans, lentils, pastures.
Canola seconds are held seperately as many end users of the seconds products cannot
handle canola seconds through their equipment.
2. Market Prices
Market prices can fluctuate greatly within the grading season.
Coorow Seeds provides the best possible price back to growers for their seconds.
Coorow Seeds credit to growers will reflect the current market price for the commodity
less handling charges and freight to market if required.
3. Seconds Quality
Comments on the quality and value of the seconds are recorded on the Job sheet.
If the seconds contain mainly unwanted weed seeds or admixture they may be recorded
as having no commercial value and may have been disposed of.
Retaining Seconds
Growers are welcome to make arrangements to keep their seconds for use on farm and Coorow Seeds is happy to help as much as possible.
